Hey pals,
Spring has sprung and along with the pastel pink flowers that greeted me going into the post office this week, the longer days have brought with them some art realizations that I’ve been pondering on.
Like my creative nature. Personally, I enjoy the ritual of doing the same thing every morning, of letting Ernie out to sunbathe while I make coffee and listen to my indie playlist or a quiet podcast.
It’s soothing to know how my day is going to start, and that it’ll be the same every time. Creatively though, every day feels different. One day I’m knee deep in glue reviews to find archival options for breaking into the gallery scene and the next I’m watching appliqué tutorials to make wall hangings (and getting great advice in my notes).
My creative nature is to try new things often and while it can sometimes be my Achilles heel, it’s hard to get good at something if you’re always moving onto the next thing, I’m realizing it’s not the flaw I always thought it was.
