Hey pals,
Last week, we talked about inspiration and where to find it. I shared a few places to look without looking, like food festivals, audiobooks, and old storage boxes.
Another place is our feeds.
Now I don’t usually suggest getting inspiration from the people we follow. Our feeds are like a Truman Show museum most times, so highly curated that they don’t make the best feeding ground for new ideas.
But if we look outside of ourselves, beyond similar styles and what we normally share, we might uncover some gems. Here are three good things from June:
A tiny bed to rest your head:
is sewing tiny beds that, while too small for my melon head, would look great on your gallery wall. They’re also taking tiny bed commissions and share sewing advice that I’ll be using on future fabric collages.
Putting the play in playback:
turned paper cutouts into a jazzy “down the rabbit hole” animation. She also makes experimental and poetic animated films that I could watch all day. Click through to pick her brain.
Flowers that won’t wilt:
is embroidering flowers full of texture and meaning. Swipe to see the details in these serene wildflower stitches and shop her Current Textures collection about our melting glaciers.
If you’re feeling inspired to stitch something this week, or maybe animate what’s going on in your own head, why not let Tanner, Tala and Emma know? I’m sure they would love to hear it.
