Bad crab
Hellooooo September!
I come to you on my last leg, clotheslined by a random bout of food poisoning. Was it the gumbo I so lovingly made? Would the crab from the old batch turn on me this way? Et tu, lump crab?!
Sheep cud
Now that I’m feeling better, I’m back to my voracious reading.
That’s not to say that I’m a BookTok level reader — I can devour books like a woman starved but more often than not, I consume chapters like fine dining appetizers. In bite sized chunks, small enough for a snail fork.
I’ve been micro-dosing The Pairing in the same way. When I was gifted The Pairing on my birthday this year, I was warned not to read it on an empty stomach. And considering the whole book is about two exes eating and rebounding their way through Europe, that was sound advice.
The ooey gooey cake crumbs I now have in my bed are just part of the reading experience. 😌
The pop renaissance
In case you hadn’t heard, pop is well and truly back, baby!
Not to be dramatic but we’re witnessing a much needed pop renaissance with Sabrina Carpenter leading the charge (and our general Chappell Roan sitting sidesaddle). Music videos are artsy and fun again and the Death Becomes Her references in the Taste video didn’t disappoint.
